"Rapid" is a 1998 golden palomino minimal white overo, tested Negative for the lethal white gene. He is 15.3 hands and weighs about 1,200 pounds. He is by Easy To Paint, a black and white overo that was doing well in cutting training as a late 2 year old until his untimely death at this young age. His dam, Rapid Finish, is a chestnut breeding stock granddaughter of APHA Champion, Two Eyed Rapid. When we first "laid eyes" on Rapid as a junior yearling, he was on about 50 acres of rye grass with another colt. As we began fitting him for halter, he began to shape up nicely, as in one of his show photos to the left. That year, he made the following accomplishments: Grand Champion, 2 Reserve Grand Champions, 2 firsts, 1 second and 3 thirds. He went into training on January 2, 2000, working on pleasure, western riding and trail. We will continue showing him in halter this year, shooting for an APHA championship, hopefully in the not-too-distant future. Rapid is also nominated to the Ark-La-Tex and Louisiana Paint Horse Clubs stallion service auctions. His foals will be eligible for both 2001 futurities.
